For the dough
4 glasses olive oil
1 1/2 glasses sugar
1 wine glass cinnamon, boiled
1 glass lemon and orange juice
2 teaspoons of baking soda
1 wine glass tsikoudià
1 teaspoon baking powder
Flour, as much as it takes

For the syrup
1 glass honey
1 glass sugar
1 glass water
1 cinnamon stick
Sesame seeds


Beat the olive oil with the sugar. Then, addthe cinnamon, the baking soda dissolved in orange juice, the baking powder dissolved in tsikoudia and the flour. Then, form oval shaped cookies and bake them at a moderate temperature. Let them cool. Meanwhile boil the syrup over low heat and immerse the melomakarona in it. Let them soak for one minute and then remove them and place them on a serving platter. Sprinkle the melomakarona with cinnamon and sesame seeds.
